Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you use Picture Translator. The short version: your images are translated in real time and never stored, and we collect only anonymous usage statistics to keep improving the tool.

1. Images you upload

When you upload a picture, it is sent securely to our server solely to extract and translate the text it contains. The image is processed in memory, is not written to any database or file storage, and is discarded as soon as the translation is delivered to your browser. We do not use your images to train machine-learning models, and we do not share them with advertisers or any third party other than the OCR and translation providers that perform the processing you requested.

2. Text extracted from images

The text recognized in your image exists only for the duration of your translation request. We do not log, archive, or build profiles from the content of your translations.

3. Analytics and usage data

To understand how the site is used and to improve it, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These services collect anonymous or pseudonymous information such as pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic region, device type, and browser. Clarity may also record anonymized interaction data (such as clicks and scrolls) to produce heatmaps and session replays; personal content is masked. Neither tool receives the images you upload or the text they contain.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on, and you can block these scripts entirely with a content blocker without affecting the translator's core functionality.

4. Cookies

The translation tool itself does not set cookies. The analytics services described above may set their own cookies to distinguish unique visits. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Third-party processing

Fulfilling a translation request involves two processing steps performed by specialized providers: optical character recognition and machine translation. These providers receive only the data required to complete your request (the image and the extracted text, respectively) and process it transiently on our behalf.

6. Data security

All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Because we retain neither your images nor your translations, there is no stored personal content to breach.

7. Children's privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
